YOGA 216 FAQS
What type of yoga does 216 teach?
216 teaches an alignment-based Vinyasa flow which is dynamic while also being precise. Our style is influenced by Mukunda Tom Stiles’ Structural Yoga Therapy approach.
I have an injury. Can I still practice yoga?
Yes. Our knowledgeable, Yoga Alliance-certified teachers will be able to cater to your needs. Just make sure you take a moment to explain your injury before class begins.
Why is a small class preferable to a big one?
Our semi-private yoga classes with a 1-to-6 instructor-to-student ratio ensure our teachers are able to give you adjustments, modifications and guidance. Your practice will progress quickly with this level of personalized attention.
What should I wear / bring to class?
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing. For women, leggings and a tank top are ideal. For men, shorts and a T-shirt.
The 216 studio is fully stocked with props, mats and refreshments, so there’s no need to bring your own unless you want to.
What are the benefits of yoga?
Increased strength and flexibility, decreased stress, weight control, healthy joints, improved coordination and focus are just some of the health benefits of yoga. A regular practice will change your everyday quality of life in more ways than you can imagine.
How is yoga different from stretching and other types of fitness?
Yoga is so much more than just stretching; it’s a total body workout. You will take each joint through its full range of motion, lift your own body weight to build strength and lengthen every muscle to improve flexibility. Our dynamic Vinyasa flow will ensure you get your cardio in too.
