The 216 community of yogis is rich and diverse. Each month, we invite a different yogi to share their yoga journey and demo our month’s focus. This month, we checked in with Lisa DeSanto, whose discovered the strong voice of her inner teacher.
Namaste, Lisa! We thank YOU for being part of our community!
I had been trying to embrace yoga for years, but that self-conscious voice in my head cautioned: You can’t do that pose; You won’t be able to keep up with the class; You’re going to get hurt and embarrass yourself.
Yoga became a less than positive experience for me, even though I knew in my heart that a regular yoga practice was just what my emotional and spiritual well-being was longing for.
After taking classes at Yoga 216, that voice in my head was changed to one of confidence and self-acceptance. I have become more grounded and connected, and look forward to continuing my journey.
Due in part to my “inner teacher”, but mostly because of the kind, caring, knowledgeable, and motivating instructors at Yoga 216, I can proudly say I have a practice that I love.
They make me feel passionate about my practice, and for that I truly thank them.
