YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
Our Approach to Level TwoOur level one program takes you deeper into specific yoga practices to help you tailor the tools to your specific needs. You’ll build on that foundation in level two, learning how to customize yoga tools for students as well. Level two is a mentorship program at its heart. With the supportive environment of our highly personalized programs, you’ll teach full yoga classes –to the public– and receive feedback and guidance from Nicole and Esther. This journey into teaching will help you continue to hone your own sadhana and learn how to use it to ground and center yourself for teaching. We’ll also take you deeper into topics introduced in level one. You’ll have more time with special guests who are experts in their fields. Each weekend meeting will cover a different topic, including a full weekend devoted each to anatomy, prenatal yoga, Ayurveda, restorative yoga, meditation and pranayama, injury management, and yoga philosophy (including Sanskrit, mantra, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and more). Our level two program will prepare you to teach safe, effective small-group and private yoga classes with confidence and conviction. You can use these skills to begin a career teaching yoga or simply to enrich your life and that of those around you.
Discover Yoga Through TeachingOur level two program is designed to prepare trainees to become full-fledged yoga teachers. Building this skill will give you a rich insight into yourself and send your further into your understanding of yoga than you can imagine.
No More than 6 TraineesYoga was traditionally taught one on one, from guru (teacher) to shishya (student). This was (and still is) effective, because each student has a unique practice, one that evolves at its own pace, and needs its own particular guidance and direction. Our teacher training programs, like our classes, are limited to 6 students by design so that we can attend to each student with equally personalized care. This small group setting also lets us tailor the overall emphasis of the program for each student and insure you progress at a pace that is suitable for you.
Studying with Nicole and EstherTogether Yoga 216 owner Nicole Katz and Senior Teacher Esther Palmer have over 20 years of practice and more than decade of teaching experience. Nicole specializes in yoga therapy and kinesiology. She excels at making the esoteric and anatomically challenging nuances of yoga practice accessible to beginners and students who think “yoga isn’t for them.” Esther specializes in meditation and restorative practices, and has a unique ability to create space for all kinds of learning styles.
Nicole and Esther are joined by expert guest teachers to take you further into special topics including Ayurveda, Sanskrit, and Yoga Philosophy. As with all 216 classes, our teacher training programs are limited to six students per group.
